VPK Curriculum
Imagine It! Curriculum is a comprehensive Pre-K Reading and Language Arts curriculum taught at the most prestigious private schools nationwide. Imagine It! combines the strength of proven, research based instruction with fun, friendly and engaging activities that ignite our VPK students interest in reading. Imagine It! completely addresses the five key areas of Reading; Phonemic Awareness, Systematic Explicit Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Every learner at every level is motivated to learn whether at, above or below level! Integrate technology to make learning fun.
Research has shown that a strong vocabulary is key to becoming a successful reader. Students with limited vocabulary are discouraged from reading on their own and rarely succeed in school. Imagine It! Vocabulary lessons introduce over twenty new meanings each week. Students learn a range of strategies for remembering newly introduced words and to make connections between newly introduced vocabulary words through specific content reading lessons.
With Imagine It! Collina Kids Academy VPK students acquire the skills, knowledge and strategies they need to become successful readers and writers.

VPK PROGRAM OVERVIEW
VPK is a State funded 540 hour high quality pre-kindergarten learning program overseen by the Early Learning Coalition of Lake County (ELCLC.org). To be eligible, your child must be four (4) years old by September 1 and be a resident of Florida. There is NO income eligibility requirement for VPK.
Proven Results
Collina Kids Academy VPK program is taught by highly skilled State Approved/Certified VPK instructors with varying levels of education including Bachelors / Associates Degrees and CDA certifications. Collina Kids Academy has served over 450 VPK children since 2006. Our VPK Readiness Rates are among the highest in Lake County with 98% children scoring at or above on ECHOS kindergarten ready.
Program Options
Collina Kids Academy offers two program options. The No Cost 3 Hour VPK Only Program follows the Lake County School System schedule with 180 days of instruction from 8:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at no cost to parents. The Full Day Pre-k/VPK Program is an extension of our VPK program and is available for an additional fee. VPK Full Day children may attend both before and after VPK hours, beginning from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. For more information regarding program options, please see VPK Policies and Procedures on the parent information link.
Pre-K 4/VPK Class Environment
The VPK / Pre-K Suite is comprised of 3 classrooms carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of Pre-K/VPK children and offer a wealth of fun educational materials to maximize the learning experience. The Literacy Room is filled with literacy materials to include read along headsets, a complete library area, a writing center, and a phonics center. The Computer & Math Room is comprised of math concepts center, computer stations, and a math writing center. The Art & Science Room offers a variety of open ended materials and activities to stimulate your child’s creativity and bring out the little scientist in them.
